About Me
I provide a counselling services for adults and young people needing a calm and supportive space to explore and overcome emotional difficulties and learn to become a happier healthier you!
I have always worked in supporting roles, helping individuals to improve their lives. I have personally experienced the benefits of counselling and realised that having a space to talk about my issues without judgement, allowed me to focus on finding my own way to deal with the problems I had previously thought would never be resolved.
It is amazing the answers we find if only we have the space, time and support to do so!
These experiences led to me to studying person-centred counselling, which focuses on the individual as the expert of their own situation. The counsellor’s role is that of a supportive facilitator, there to assist the client in finding their own way to manage their situation.
When we work together I use an integrative approach to counselling based upon your needs and goals.
This means I will draw on a combination of therapeutic models and techniques to help you improve your well-being.
At the heart is person-centred therapy however I will draw on cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness, the Hudson Mind Process and creative approaches.
My counselling work has involved working with client’s attending a charity for drug and alcohol misuse issues.
I also worked at a charity supporting individuals and family members affected by chronic illness.
I currently provide counselling for students at a local university and through my private practice support individuals from adolescence to those in their later years.
My qualifications include:
BA Hons in Counselling
Diploma in Health and Social Care
Brief intervention drug and alcohol training
Domestic violence awareness
Diversity Awareness Training
Disability Awareness
Level 1 Body Mind Worker
I am a Registered Member of British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I follow their principles of good practice outlined in their ethical framework. I also hold a current DBS enhanced registration.

Face-To-Face Counselling
Counselling offers you a safe space to explore your feelings and different aspects of your life that you may be struggling with. Your well-being is the most important part of counselling, this is a time for you to be heard and understood in a non-judgemental space.
You are the expert in your own life, but it can be hard to find the answers alone so my role as a counsellor is to be there to support you through your journey. As we work together you will develop a greater understanding of your issues and find ways to move beyond them to live the happier, healthier life you deserve.
